Consistency Over Motivation Equals Discipline
This is going to be a short post as the title says it all basically. Many people would have heard this said before but they perhaps would have not put it into practice, very few people do. It is nice to watch a motivational video to get hyped for a workout or to study or to achieve anything in any area but it is also temporary - motivation does not last.
In terms of working out it does not matter how you feel it does not matter if you are in the mood what matters is that you work out so even if you hate it do it anyway just go through the motions doing something is better than doing nothing and you will thank yourself for it later.
This applies to all areas of life and honestly will set you free, you may think having a "me day" is good from time to time but it is not it is letting hedonism in and it is a step closer to destruction, watching TV and eating junk food will not get you where you need to go in life, your comfort can quite easily become your prison.
That being said it is also bad to beat yourself up about not doing what you know you need to do as this will most likely lead you into despair which will hinder you even further, if you fail figure out why and improve yourself, turn failure into a learning process. If you're gonna fall it's best to fall forward.
Hebrews 12:11 ESV
For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Proverbs 12:1 ESV
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
Titus 1:8 ESV
But hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined.
